Gunter Powers Goucher Track and Field At 18th Goucher College Track And Field Classic
BALTIMORE, Md. – Taylor Gunter (Laurel, Md./Sandy Spring Friends School) recorded two Top-3 finishes in the throws to power Goucher College track and field at the 18th Goucher College Track And Field Classic on Saturday.
Gunter finished second in the discus with a throw of 33.53m and placed third in the shot put with a toss of 10.89m in the first outdoor meet of the year.
Hannah Brogan (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) finished fifth in both the 3000m (13:52.55) and the 3000m steeplechase (14:53.93).
Mikayla Hinnant (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) recorded two Top-10 finishes in the shot put (10.18m) and the discus (28.06m) while also finishing 20th in the hammer (24.38m).
Sydney Smith (Falls Church, Va./George Mason HS) placed seventh in the 200m (28.41) and 15th in the 100m (13.64) while Anna Galina (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) was 13th in the 100m (13.60) and 14th in the 200m (28.84).
Devon Esslinger (Las Cruces, N.M./Las Cruces) and Connor Lawrence (North Potomac, Md./Woolton) powered the Gophers men's team with a fourth-place standing. Esslinger placed fourth in the triple jump (12.47m), ninth in the 110m hurdles (17.38) and 15th in the 200m (25.63) while Lawrence was fourth in the 3000m (11:20.57).
Darby Bauer (Perkiomenville, Pa./Boyertown Area) finished fifth in the hammer (38.97m), 13th in the discus (31.42m) and 16th in the javelin (36.42m). Joel Gladney (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) was sixth in the discus (33.75), 12th in the shot put (10.48) and 19th in the hammer (30.98m) while Brandon Julot (Baltimore, Md./The SEED School of Maryland) finished 16th in the discus (30.09m) and 18th in the hammer (26.63m).
Langston Henry (New York, N.Y./Grace Church School) placed 13th in the 200m (25.35) and 21st in the 100m (12.19) while Kai Miller (Harlem, N.Y.) was 16th in the 200m (25.69) and 23rd in the 100m (12.54). Miles (Mia) Taylor (Bowie, Md./Wakefield) finished 18th in the 110m hurdles and Matthew Knudson (Washington, D.C./E.L. Haynes) ended 23rd in the 1500m (5:57.41).
Goucher returns to action at the Jim Taylor Invitational on March 30.
