Bio

Art Grossman returns to the Goucher track and field staff for the 2016-17 season, bringing several years of coaching experience and a strong personal running background.

Grossman recently served as the head track and field coach at Baltimore Maccabi for nine years.

A 1978 graduate of Temple University, Grossman was one of the school’s top runners during his time with the Owls. He earned all-conference recognition in multiple events from the East Coast Conference in each of his four years at Temple, and he was named the school’s Most Valuable Runner in 1976, 1977 and 1978. He is the current school record holder in the indoor 60-yard dash (6.2 seconds) and he held the Temple Stadium record in the 220-yard race (21.9 seconds).

In 1977, Grossman represented the United States at the World Maccabiah Games, an event held every four years in which the world’s top Jewish athletes compete against each other, and earned a silver medal for his country.

Grossman volunteers his free time with the Maryland Special Olympics. Originally from Philadelphia, Pa., he currently resides in Owings Mills.
