Goucher Programs Earn Academic Recognition
METAIRIE, LA — Both of Goucher's cross country programs are being recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the academic accomplishments of student-athletes in 2006, a spokeperson for the organization announced today.

METAIRIE, LA — Both of Goucher's cross country
programs are being recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and
Cross Country Coaches Association for the academic accomplishments
of student-athletes in 2006, a spokeperson for the organization
announced today.
The USTFCCCA's All-Academic Team Award goes to programs in which
the entire active roster attains a 3.10 or higher grade point
average. The combined GPA of the runners on Goucher's men's cross
country team in the fall was 3.140, and for the women, it was
3.540.
During the 13 years John Caslin has been the head coach of
Goucher's cross country programs, his squads have earned a total of
19 All-Academic Team Awards — 10 by the women and nine by the
men.
Goucher is one of only two schools in the Capital Athletic
Conference from which both the men's and women's cross country
programs qualified for the All-Academic Team Awards in 2006.
