BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. – Goucher's Joey Negreann (Denver, Colo./Cherry Creek) and Adam Scipione (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) both finished today's Eagle Invitational in under 28 minutes.
Negreann crossed the finish line in 27:02.0, good for 30th place in a field of 106 runners in the 7,500-meter race at Fort Roberdeau. Scipione placed 44th overall as he completed the race in 27:48.5.
The individual champion was Paul Thistle from Susquehanna, who broke the course record with his winning time of 24:55.8.
Goucher had a third runner finish among the top 50 in Tom Stabler (Keene, N.H./Keene). He placed 50th overall with his time of 28:12.7.
Since the Landmark Conference will be conducting its championship meet next month at Fort Roberdeau, six of the conference's seven men's teams took part in today's race. Juniata (62 points), Susquehanna (69) and Moravian (100) finished 2-3-4 in the team scoring with the title going to Elizabethtown with a team score of 29 points. Goucher ended up in eighth place with 203 points ahead of Pitt-Greensburg, Drew and Pii-Bradford.
