Negreann Leads Way to Seventh-Place Finish
ALTOONA, Pa. – Goucher's top five runners, starting with freshman Joey Negreann (Denver, Colo./Cherry Creek) in 37th place were separated by just 1:05 today at the 2008 Landmark Conference Championships conducted at Fort Roberdeau Historic Site.

ALTOONA, Pa. – Goucher's top five runners, starting with freshman Joey Negreann (Denver, Colo./Cherry Creek) in 37th place were separated by just 1:05 today at the 2008 Landmark Conference Championships conducted at Fort Roberdeau Historic Site.
Negreann completed the 8,000-meter race in 29:40.9. Senior Matt Spitznagel (Parkton, Md./Friends School of Baltimore) was three spots behind Negreann in 40th place as he turned in a time of 29:48.1.
The next three Goucher runners were sophomore Adam Scipione (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) in 43rd place (29:51.5), freshman Tom Stabler (Keene, N.H./Keene) in 52nd (30:34.8) and sophomore Brendan Ference (Smallwood, N.Y./Monticello) in 55th (30:45.8).
A total of 82 runners competed in the race, which was won by Paul Thistle from Susquehanna. Thistle's winning time was 26:46.9.
Susquehanna successfully defended its championship, finishing in first place with 41 points for an eight-point victory over runner-up Juniata. Moravian placed third with 87 points, followed by Scranton (91 points) in fourth, U.S. Merchant Marine (124) in fifth, Catholic (159) in sixth, Goucher (188) in seventh and Drew (255) in eighth.
