Negreann Improves from 12th to Finish in Third Place
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — At the halfway point, Goucher's Joey Negreann (Denver, Colo./Cherry Creek) was running in 12th place in the Collegiate White race at today's Lehigh-Brooks-Paul Short Run.
Manta, Geller Finish 2-3 for Goucher in 8,000-Meter Race
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — At the halfway point, Goucher's Joey Negreann (Denver, Colo./Cherry Creek) was running in 12th place in the Collegiate White race at today's Lehigh-Brooks-Paul Short Run.
By the time he crossed the finish line in the 8,000-meter event, the senior had passed nine runners to move up to third place behind only Macky Lloyd of St. Rose and Rob Albano of Felician.
Lloyd's winning time was 25:32, which gave him an eight-second victory over Albano. Negreann was clocked at 26:10, which is the 14th fastest time for a race of that distance in the history of Goucher's men's cross country program.
Following Negreann, the next Goucher runner to come in was Nick Manta (North Wales, Pa./Abington Friends School) in 175th place with a time of 29:43. Hugh Geller (Devens, Mass./Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School) posted a time of 31:08, good for 236th place.
There were 357 collegiate runners in the race.
With a team score of 934 points, the Gophers finished in 37th place.
