Gophers Get Look at Course for Mid-East Regionals

Sophomores Lead Way as Goucher Finishes in 39th Place

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Sophomore Hugh Geller (Devens, Mass./Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School) was Goucher's top performer today at the DeSales Invitational.

Running on the same course that will be the site of the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championships on Nov. 12, Geller completed the 8,000-meter race in 30:21.34, good for 243rd place in a field of 448 runners.

Sophomore Troy Browne (Springdale, Md./C.H. Flowers) returned from an injury to run for the Gophers for the first time since the Coach Achtzehn Classic on Sept. 17 and turned in a time of 31:17.00 to finish in 298th place.

The individual champion was Dylan Straughn from Dickinson. Straughn's winning time was 25:56.24.

In the overall team scoring, Goucher was 39th out of 45 teams.
