Manta Finishes 13 Seconds Ahead of Clair at Gettysburg
GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Of the four runners Goucher had entered in the 8,000-meter race today at the Gettysburg Invitational, senior Nick Manta (North Wales, Pa./Abington Friends School) was the first to cross the finish line.
Goucher's Top Two Runners Come In 151st, 174th Overall
GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Of the four runners Goucher had entered in the 8,000-meter race today at the Gettysburg Invitational, senior Nick Manta (North Wales, Pa./Abington Friends School) was the first to cross the finish line.
The second was freshman Joshua Clair (Ardmore, Pa./Haverford).
Manta finished in 151st place in the field of 389 runners, completing the race in 28:24. Clair followed in 28:41, good for 174th place.
Zachary Byrum (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) was clocked at 30:13 and placed 263rd; Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) posted a time of 30:50 and was the 287th runner to come in.
Matt Gillette from Shippensburg was the individual champion. His winning time of 25:21 gave him a 26-second victory over an unattached runner who placed second.
With only four runners, the Gophers were not awarded a team score.
