Manta Completes 8,000 Meters in 29:05 at Mideast Regionals

First Landmark Conference Runner to Finish Places Fourth
NEWVILLE, Pa. — Goucher had two runners compete at the NCAA Division III Mideast Region Championship today.
The top performer for the Gophers in the field of 343 runners was senior Nick Manta (North Wales, Pa./Abington Friends School), who completed the 8,000-meter race in 29:05.0, good for 192nd place.
Sophomore Zachary Byrum (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) placed 282nd overall and turned in a time of 30:58.5.
The first runner to cross the finish line was Bobby Over from Allegheny. His winning time of 25:09.6 provided him with a 13-second triumph over Chris Stadler from Haverford. Third place went to Brett Kubiak from Gwynedd-Mercy (25:26.7).
The first runner from a Landmark Conference school to finish the race was Moravian's Dillon Farrell, who placed fourth with a time of 25:27.8.
With only two runners, Goucher did not qualify for a team score.
