Four Seconds Separate Jennings, Byrum at Metro Meet
COCKEYSVILLE, Md. — Goucher's Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) and Zachary Byrum (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) were separated by just over four seconds as they were they were the 17th and 18th runners, respectively, to cross the finish line at the annual Baltimore Metro Meet, conducted today at Oregon Ridge Park.
COCKEYSVILLE, Md. — Goucher's Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) and Zachary Byrum (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) were separated by just over four seconds as they were they were the 17th and 18th runners, respectively, to cross the finish line at the annual Baltimore Metro Meet, conducted today at Oregon Ridge Park.
Jennings covered the 5,000-meter distance of the race in 18:35.13, while Byrum posted a time of 18:39.67.
The Gophers had only two other runners in the race, both freshmen. Griffin Stein (Westport, Conn./Staples) placed 20th overall with his time of 19:02.17 and Dietrich Pultinas (Roxbury, Mass./Brimmer and May School), was clocked at 21:08.13, good for 26th place.
With only four runners, Goucher was not awarded a team score.
The individual winner of the race was Geoffrey Karlow from Johns Hopkins. He completed the race in 16:28.79.
