Three Goucher Runners Crack Top 20 in First Race
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — Goucher's Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) and Sean O'Flaherty (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) were separated by less than 21 seconds as they were the 13th and 14th runners, respectively, to cross the finish line at the Delaware Valley Invitational today.
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — Goucher's Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) and Sean O'Flaherty (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) were separated by less than 21 seconds as they were the 13th and 14th runners, respectively, to cross the finish line at the Delaware Valley Invitational today.
Jennings, the only senior of Goucher's 2015 roster, covered the 8,000-meter distance in 31:18.32, while O'Flaherty, a freshman, posted a time of 31:39.22.
The Gophers had only two other runners complete the season-opening race: sophomore Liam Lanahan (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley) placed 17th overall with his time of 31:53.94 and sophomore Collin Clarkin-Wright (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) was clocked at 35:52.77, good for 42nd place.
With only four runners able to complete the race, Goucher was not awarded a team score.
The individual winner was Aidan Cusick from Philadelphia, who was timed at 28:47.29.
