Freshman Runs Sub-30 Minute 8K at Dickinson Inv.
NEWVILLE, Pa. — Sean O'Flaherty (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) became the first Goucher runner to finish an 8,000-meter race in under 30 minutes today when he was clocked at 29:44.96 today at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational.

The freshman placed 83rd in a field of 158 runners.
Also running in the longer of the two races for Goucher were Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) and Collin Clarkin-Wright (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley). Jennings posted a time of 31:21.83, good for 115th place, and Clarkin-Wright took 142nd place (33:01.24).
The Gophers finished in a three-way tie with Arcadia and Messiah for 22nd place in the team scoring for the long race.
Goucher's top performer in the shorter 4,000-meter race was John Gyimesi (Malvern, Pa./Montana Academy), who placed 182nd with his time of 16:57.19.
Next up for head coach John Caslin's Gophers is the Goucher Cross Country Classic on October 10.
