Goucher Runners Get Peek at Landmark Meet Course
KINGS PARK, N.Y. — Running on the same course that will be used for the 2015 Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Championships next weekend, Goucher placed 16th overall today at the St. Joseph's (L.I.) Invitational.
KINGS PARK, N.Y. — Running on the same course that will be used for the 2015 Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Championships next weekend, Goucher placed 16th overall today at the St. Joseph's (L.I.) Invitational.
The first runner from Goucher to complete the 8,050-meter race was freshman Sean O'Flaherty (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central). He was the sixth runner from a Landmark Conference school and the 17th overall to cross the finish line, which he did in a season-best time of 29:40.24.
The No. 2 runner from Goucher was junior Liam Lanahan (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley), who was clocked at 30:58.74, good for 36th place; No. 3 was sophomore Collin Clarkin-Wright (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) in 68th place (32:54.97).
The individual champion was Mpho Makefane from Monroe. His winning time was recorded as 27:53.69.
As a team, the Gophers earned a score of 325 points and finished in 13th place.
