Two Runners Save Best Times for Mideast Regionals

NEWVILLE, Pa. — Two of the three Goucher runners who competed today at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional posted their fastest times of the season for an 8,000-meter race.
Freshman Sean O'Flaherty (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) finished under 30 minutes for the fourth time, completing the race in 29:28.1. That put him in 244th place in the field of 371 runners.
Sophomore Collin Clarkin-Wright (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) crossed the finish line in 31:50.9, good for 324th place.
With only three runners entered, Goucher was not awarded a team score.
Charlie Marquardt from Haverford was the individual champion as he toured the course in 25:14.8. The first runner from a Landmark Conference school to come in was Zach Trama from Elizabethtown (25:30.8) in fourth place.
