Young Gopher Runners Keep Improving
The Goucher men’s cross country team finished seventh overall out of nine scoring teams at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational Race held at Big Springs High School in Carlyle, PA today.
CARLYLE, PA. - The Goucher men’s cross country team finished seventh overall out of nine scoring teams at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational Race held at Big Springs High School in Carlyle, PA today.
In the men's 4,000 meter run the men's team finished 7th overall. Freshman Joel Nadler (Metuchen,NJ) finished 43rd with time of 14:54.5. Fellow freshman Xavier Coggeshall (Hampton, NH) finished in 55th place with a time of 16:12.2 and sophomore John Gyimesi (Malvern, PA) finished right on Coggeshall’s heels in 57th place with a time of 16:43. 1. All three of these runners ran personal bests for that distance.
In the men's 8,000 meter run, Jason Higginbotham (Brunswick, ME), had the most competitive finish of the day for the men when he placed 22nd with a time of 30:46.0 in a driving rain storm.
The next race for the men’s team will take place on Family Weekend, on Saturday October 8th, at 10:30 am.
