Gophers Set PR's at Landmark Conference Cross Country Championship
Running with the youngest men's team in school history (4 1st yr. and 1 sophomore), the Gophers finished 8th today at the Landmark Conference Championship, hosted by Moravian College.
Northampton, PA. - Running with the youngest men's team in school history (4 1st yr. and 1 sophomore), the Gophers finished 8th today at the Landmark Conference Championship, hosted by Moravian College. The Gophers were led by 1st year Javaunte Neumann, (Revloc, Pa.) who finished 56th with a time of29:02. Running right behind Neumann was Jason Higginbotham (Brunswick, Me.) in 57th place with a time of 29:03. Goucher's 3rd runner was freshman Joel Nadler,(Metuchen, NJ) who ran a personal best 29:39 and finished 64th. Also running personal bests were Xavier Cogginshall (Hampton, NH) who finished 82nd at 33:29 and Sophomore John Gyimesi (Malvern, Pa.)who finished 84th with a time of 34:33.
"The Goucher men competed well today, but being a very young group, and going through a difficult two weeks after the passing of teammate, they were up against it. They will improve though and I look for them to be competitive very soon" said Head Coach John Caslin.
