Baltimore, MD - The men’s cross country team ran in the Moravian invitational today, the first 8K race conducted on Moravian’s campus in over 20 years, and finished sixth out of seven teams. The course will host the 2016 Landmark Conference Championships on October 29 and that is why Goucher Coach, John Caslin, “wanted his young team to see and experience the course we will run on the championship weekend”.
Goucher had three runners finish in the top 50 in the race: First years Jason Higginbotham (Brunswick, ME) ran 28:58.57 and Joel Nadler (Metuchen, NJ) ran 30:31.77, and second year Sean O’Flaherty (Hinsdale, IL) ran 30:21.25 and they were the top runners for the Gophers. Higginbotham’s time was the best time for a Goucher male runner since 2014 over the 8K distance. Upon completion of the race, Caslin commented that "Jason took advantage of good weather and great competition to run a good time this early. O’Flaherty and Nadler continue to improve also. "
