Men's XC Hosts 2017 Goucher Cross Country Classic
The Goucher College men’s cross country team competed in the Goucher College Cross Country Classic at home on Saturday.
TOWSON, Md. – The Goucher College men's cross country team competed in the Goucher College Cross Country Classic at home on Saturday.
Due to official course error, the finishes are skewed. However, times are correct for the Goucher College men's team.
Junior Sean O'Flaherty (Hinsdale, Ill.) led the pack for the Gophers with a time of 32:31.17, coming in sixth place. He was closely followed by sophomore Jason Higginbotham (Brunswick, Maine) with a time of 32:46.55.
Zach Bryum, a graduate of Goucher College ran in the race, placing 15th with a time of 33:24.38.
First-years Paul Vasquez (Rockville, Md.) and Nathaniel Bacon (Pottstown, Pa.) rounded out the competitors for the men's team on Saturday. Vasquez finished in 47th place with a time of 36:56.24 while Bacon clocked a 40:32.40.
The U.S. Naval Academy took home the overall win on the day while the United States Merchant Marine Academy earned the victory among Division III schools. Hassan Eissa of Harford CC was the individual champ on the day.
The Gophers take a two-week hiatus before returning to the course on October 28th in the 11th Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships being held at Juniata College.
