Basketball's Midnight Madness Set for Upcoming Monday

TOWSON, Md. – The 2013-14 seasons for the Goucher men’s and women’s basketball teams will officially get underway with the school’s annual Midnight Madness celebration on the night of Monday, Oct. 14.

The event will begin at 11:30 p.m. in the Decker Sports & Recreation Center with free food provided by Hooters and Gino’s Burgers & Chicken. Shortly afterwards, the action will move into the gymnasium, where there will be several contests to go along with performances by several of Goucher’s dance teams.

The evening will conclude with team introductions, followed by scrimmages from the Gopher men’s and women’s squads, a half-court shot contest and a slam dunk contest by the men’s team.

Free t-shirts will be handed out to the first 100 arrivals, the first of several promotions on hand throughout the night. Other prizes include $100 gift cards to the resident hall and athletic program with the highest number of students in attendance. Extra t-shirts will also be frequently thrown into the stands.
