Athletics Eclipses 3.0 GPA for 30th-Straight Semester

The Gophers’ 19 programs combined to register a cumulative grade-point average of 3.19 during the most-recent fall semester, matching a total from last spring which had been the highest average since the spring of 2008. The department continues a streak of eclipsing the 3.0 mark in every semester since the fall of 1999.
Goucher’s volleyball program led the way this fall, with the team earning a 3.53 grade-point average during Kelli Wilkinson’s first season as head coach. That number was aided by four players on the team totaling a GPA of 3.90 or higher.
The women’s track & field programs followed with a 3.43 GPA, with equestrian closely behind at 3.39. Among men’s programs, cross country earned the top mark with a 3.23 grade-point average.
Women’s tennis saw the highest increase in team GPA from the previous semester, as the Gophers rose by 0.38 points up to a 3.26 average this fall. The full list of programs over 3.0 is listed below.
