Bakare Post A Pair Of Third-Place Finishes To Lead Goucher Track & Field At Moravian Coach P Open
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Tee Bakare (Silver Spring, Md./Archbishop Carroll) registered a pair of third-place finishes to lead the Goucher College track and field team at the Moravian Coach P Open on Saturday.
Bakare placed third in the 100m with a time of 12.99 and in the 200m with a time of 26.78.
On the men's side, Sean Whitfield (Beltsville, Md./DeMatha Catholic) placed fourth in the 800m (2:06.84) and seventh in the 1500m (4:51.32), while Joel Gladney (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) finished sixth in the shot put (11.92m) and sixth in the discus (40.03m).
Also for the women, Tara Abdullah-Nri (Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooklyn Technical) was fifth in the shot put (6.80m) and sixth in the discus (17.82m). Neli La Court Ruiz (York, Pa./York Suburban) finished sixth in the 100m (13.79) and 11th in the 200m (28.71), while Katherine Hernandez Guevara (Hyattsville, Md./Bladensburg) was sixth in the 800m (2:52.47) and 16th in the 1500m (5:53.54).
Charlotte Birnbaum (Princeton, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) finished 11th in the 100m (16.07), and Isabel Srour (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) was 21st in the 1500m (6:19.76)
Goucher returns to action on Saturday, April 24 when the squad hosts the Goucher Classic. Spectators are not permitted, but Goucher Athletics will stream as many events as possible.
