Gophers Compete at Towson Invitational
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College outdoor track and field teams competed at the Towson Invitational at Johnnny Unitas Stadium Friday and Saturday.
Jordan Dumas (Elkridge, Md./Oakland Mills) placed eighth Saturday in the women's triple jump with a leap of 10.80 meters. That currently ranks as the top mark in the Landmark Conference.
Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw (Adelphi, Md./Cheverly STEM Education Center) placed second among Division III athletes and 14th overall in the women's 400 with a time of 59.96 seconds.
On Friday, Sarah Roth (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) placed 13th overall in the women's hammer throw with a toss of 37.46 meters. That mark is currently fifth in the Landmark Conference.
Sean Whitfield (Beltsville, Md./DeMatha Catholic) posted a mark of 1:02.70 in the men's 400 meter hurdles on Friday. That time is currently good for No. 5 in the Landmark. Deonte Lewis (Fort Washington, Md./Crossland) ran a 23.90 in the men's 200 meter dash
Goucher is back in action Wednesday evening when it competes at the York Twilight Meet.
