Gophers Head to Susquehanna for Landmark Indoor Track Championships Saturday
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College men's and women's indoor track and field teams will compete at the 2024 Landmark Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, February 24 at the Susquehanna University Field House. The event gets underway at 11 am.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 10-17 and youth under 10 admitted free. Students, faculty and staff of Lanmdark Conference institutions with ID are also admitted free. Tickets can be purchased online, and there are no cash sales on-site.
The Goucher men were selected sixth in the pre-championship coaches' poll. The Gophers have a total of 11 top-10 marks in the conference entering Saturday's meet, including three in the 400-meter dash. KeMarco Monger (5th, 51.50), Pani Marousis (9th, 52.50) and Sean Whitfield (10th, 52.99) all rank amongst the top-10.
Mark Martin ranks second in the conference in the long jump with his program-record 6.84-meter jump recorded last week at Susquehanna. Jay Briston sits sixth in the conference with a 6.64-meter leap, also set last week. Martin's 12.99-meter triple jump is fourth overall among Landmark competitors, while Aidan Kress is fifth at 12.86 meters.
Whitfield is ranked No. 10 in the 800, with a time of 2:02.01 set last week. Emmanuel Olarewju owns the conference's No. 10 60-meter hurdle mark at 8.98 seconds. Kress is No. 6 in the heptathlon, racking up 3,531 points at Lebanon Valley in January.
The Gophers also have a pair of relays ranked in the top three in the conference. The 4x200 relay ran 1:34.84 at the Frank Colden Invitational on February 3, while the 4x400 squad ran 3:34.74 at LVC to sit third in the conference.
Goucher's women, who were selected eighth, are led by sophomore Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw, the defending conference champion in the 800-meter run. Thornton-Fillyaw currently owns the No. 4 800-meter time in the country as she ran 2:13.35 (2:11.83 converted) at the George Mason Patriot Games on January 26. Goucher currently has six other top-10 marks in the conference.
Thornton-Fillyaw owns the conference's No. 8 mile time (5:22.43).
Alana Acker and Dorian Cheney are tied for eighth in the high jump with jumps of 1.50 meters. Cheney also sits eighth in the long jump at 5.03 meters, while Acker is 10th at 5.00 meters.
Ray Asiedu is No. 10 in the 60-meter dash, running 8.12 seconds last weekend at Susquehanna. Asiedu is also No. 12 in the 200 (27.37 seconds).
