Gophers Compete at Mid-Atlantic Juco Regional
COLUMBIA, Md. - The Goucher College men's and women's track and field teams had several athletes compete at the Mid-Atlantic Juco Invitational hosted by Howard Community College at Dragon Stadium on Saturday.
The Gopher women took a pair of first place finishes on the day.
Lydia Bailey bested the field in the javelin with a throw of 29.15 meters. Bailey also placed second in the hammer throw with a mark of 31.68 meters.
Aaliyah Briddell finished first in the 100-meter hurdles, checking in with a time of 16.79 seconds.
Ray Asiedu placed sixth in the women's 100-meter finals with a time of 12.87 seconds after running a 12.71 in the prelims. Skye Washington finished third in the women's 800 with a time of 2:20.63.
Aidan Kress placed fourth in the men's triple jump with a mark of 12.59 meters. In the men's long jump, Jaylin Briston was sixth with a jump of 5.65 meters.
AJ Landy finished eighth in the men's 200 with a time of 23.20 seconds.
Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw is in action for Goucher on Sunday as she is slated to compete in the women's 800 at the Bucknell Bison Invitational.
