Gophers Compete at Cardinal Classic

Landover Md. - The Gophers competed in the Cardinal Classic this weekend at the Prince George Sports and Learning Complex. Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw had a first place performance in the women's 800. Tanise was also apart of the fourth place women's 4 x 400 meter relay team that featured Tamryn Thornton-Fillyaw, Terrica Thornton-Fillyaw, and Nancy Nyadongo.  

Aryanna Paulena secured second place in the women's triple jump. Paulena also clinched fifth place in the women's high jump and sixth in the pole vault. Nancy Nyadongo had two podium finishes this weekend. She placed second in the women's 200 meter dash and third in the 60 meter dash. 

The Gophers return to action Saturday, Febuary 8 at the Blue & White Invitational. It will be held at Franklin & Marshall College.
