Gophers Compete at the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet
Salisbury, Md. - The Gophers traveled to Salisbury University to start their outdoor season this weekend at the Llyod Sigler Spring Meet. The field events has multiple podium finishes. Nehemiah Covington won first in men's shot put with a distance of 13.25 meters. In women's shot put Max McCoy clinched third with a 9.85 meter throw. McCoy also was third is discus with 28.27 meter throw and fourth in hammer with a distance of 29.84 meters. In the men's long jump two athletes placed in the top five. Aidan Kress won second with a jump of 5.87 meters and Bradford Ferrante placed fourth with a distance of 5.61 meters. In the running events Sam Dylan placed third in the men's 3000 meter and Tamryn Thornton-Fillyaw won first place in the women's 800 meter.
The Gophers will be continuing their outdoor season April 11th at the Bison Classic.
