Gophers Compete at Day 1 of the Towson Invitational
Towson, Md.- The Gophers headed up the street this weekend to compete in the Towson Invitational. During the first day of competition Emmanuel Olarewaju placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.41. In the men's shot put throw Nehemiah Covington placed second with a toss of 13.81 meters. Covington also placed fifth in the men's hammer. Max McCoy threw her season best in the women's shot put with a 10.59-meter toss. The Gophers will be returning tomorrow to continue competition.
Covington's throw in the shot put lead to him securing the new outdoor school record.
