Rangers Avenge Earlier Loss to Gophers
MADISON, N.J. - Goucher's Shadae Swan (Baltimore, MD/St. Frances Academy) scored at least 20 points for the eighth consecutive game - and the 15th time this season - in this evening's Landmark Conference contest against Drew. Her 21-point effort allowed her to attain a milestone and also pass her head coach in career points, but it wasn't enough to lead the Gophers to victory.

Instead, the Rangers (5-13, 3-5 Landmark) gained a measure of revenge for an eight-point loss to the Gophers last month by defeating head coach Didi Cotton's squad, 69-57.
Swan was 9-for-18 from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 at the free-throw line. With her first basket of the game, she became only the fourth player in the history of Goucher's women's basketball program to surpass 1,500 points during her career.
Her first field goal of the second half boosted her career total to 1,514 points, allowing her to pass Cotton and become the program's third-leading all-time scorer.
Cotton, who played at Goucher from 1993-96, tallied 1,513 points during her career.
The lead changed hands six times in the first half of this evening's contest, which ended with the two teams deadlocked at 30-30. A three-point basket by Francheska Guilfu (Bridgeport, CT/Preston) on Goucher's first possession of the second half put the Gophers (7-11, 2-6 Landmark) ahead 33-30, but the Rangers responded with a 13-2 run, taking a 43-35 lead on a three-pointer by Jessica DelVecchio with 14:17 left to play.
DelVecchio finished with a game-high 24 points.
Guilfu and Kathleen O'Grady (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) ended up with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
