Women's Golf Finishes 3rd in First Event of Program History
The Goucher College women’s golf team finished its first event in program history, placing third at the Bay Creek Invitational hosted in Cape Charles, Va. on Monday and Tuesday.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Goucher College women's golf team finished its first event in program history, placing third at the Bay Creek Invitational hosted in Cape Charles, Va. on Monday and Tuesday.
As a team, the Gophers posted a score of 783, finishing only 31 strokes behind second-placed York College (752).
Goucher was led by first-year Emmie Starchvick (Jacksonville, Ore.) with a two-day score of 183. She was followed by Christina Peavey (Post, Texas) who wrapped up the event with a total score of 193.
Both Emily Pochet (Royersford, Pa.) and Lauren O'Leary (Potomac, Md.) improved on their scores in the second day of the Bay Creek Invitational held at the Bay Creek Resort – an Arnold Palmer designed course. Pochet and O'Leary both hit a 98 on Tuesday dropping seven and eight strokes, respectively. Whitney Duran (Stamford, Texas) also dropped three strokes from day one to day two at Bay Creek.
The Gophers hit the links again on September 23rd when they travel to Susquehanna for their Fall Invitational.
