GLASSBORO, NJ Goucher caught Rowan at 14-14 by scoring three unanswered goals in a span of 2:45 and then passed the Profs on a goal by Sandy Okun (Stevenson, MD/McDonogh School) with 2:43 left to play as the Gophers pulled out a 15-14 non-conference victory tonight.

GLASSBORO, NJ — Goucher caught Rowan at 14-14 by
scoring three unanswered goals in a span of 2:45 — and then
passed the Profs on a goal by Sandy Okun (Stevenson,
MD/McDonogh School) with 2:43 left to play as the Gophers
pulled out a 15-14 non-conference victory tonight.
Although the Gophers (6-6) led by as many as three goals in the
first half, they trailed at halftime by three, 11-8. The Profs
(5-8) tallied their final goal of the contest with 11:36 remaining,
but it provided them with a 14-11 advantage.
The Gophers' comeback started with an unassisted goal by
Emily Blatter (Lexington, VA/Rockbridge County),
who finished with six goals and an assist. Blatter's assist came on
a goal by Okun with 9:54 remaining that made the score 14-13.
Kate Knitter (Sellerville, PA/Pennridge) was
awarded assists on Goucher's final two goals of the contest —
one by Whitney Groseclose (Boyce, VA/Mercersburg
Academy) with 8:51 showing on the clock that produced the
14-14 tie and then on Okun's second game-winning goal of the
season.
Kelly Angstadt and Shana Smeriglio furnished the Profs with four
goals apiece.
