Foster, Okun Land On IWLCA Academic Honor Roll
GRAND LAKE, Colo. The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association today recognized 407 student-athletes at 152 institutions for their excellence in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic year. Among the players who made the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll were a pair of four-year letterwinners who graduated from Goucher in May: Brittany Foster (Portland, Maine/Portland) and Sandy Okun (Stevenson, Md./McDonogh School).

Organization Recognizes 407 Student-Athletes for Academic Excellence

GRAND LAKE, Colo. — The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse
Coaches Association today recognized 407 student-athletes at 152
institutions for their excellence in the classroom during the
2008-09 academic year. Among the players who made the IWLCA
Academic Honor Roll were a pair of four-year letterwinners who
graduated from Goucher in May: Brittany Foster (Portland,
Maine/Portland) and Sandy Okun (Stevenson,
Md./McDonogh School).
The student-athletes were all nominated by their institutions and had to have attained at least junior standing academically. Nominees considered had a GPA of at least 3.5 or were in the top 10 percent of their team.
Foster, a biology major who was enrolled in Goucher's premedical studies program, earned All-Landmark Conference honors at the position of goalkeeper in 2008 and again this season. Okun graduated with a degree in music and is now on the coaching staff at Stevenson.
