CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — Kat Carnevale (Portland, Ore./St. Mary's Academy) and Jojo Franklin (Denver, Colo./Kent Denver School) were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region second team today, representing the Chesapeake Region.
They were two of 256 athletes selected for the prestigious honor by the IWLCA and two of just 32 in the region.
Capping off a stellar four-year career with the Gophers, Carnevale, a 2016 first-team All-Landmark defender, didn't miss a single game. The senior notched 18 draw controls, good for second most on the team, and finished third with 31 groundballs and 25 caused turnovers this season.
Carnevale's 89 career caused turnovers is tied for fourth all-time in Goucher history.
Franklin, a 2016 first-team All-Landmark midfielder, impressed for a second consecutive season. She led the team in three categories: goals (38), draw controls (48) and caused turnovers (37). The sophomore finished second on the team with 33 groundball.
This is the first time since 2013 that a Goucher player has earned All-Region honors.
