SELINSGROVE, PA. -- The Gophers fell to the River Hawks of Susquehanna 19-3 Saturday afternoon on the road.
Junior Molly Brenton (Lancaster, PA), freshman Shanon Stull (Westminster, PA) and freshman Gabrielle Umstead (Chads Ford, PA) all found the back of the net for the Gophers.
Junior goalkeeper Bridget Den Boer (Sparta, NJ) made 11 saves during the contest.
The River Hawks were led by senior Shannon Kinney with 5 goals, 6 draw controls and one caused turnover.
How It Happened:
- Susquehanna got a quick start on the Gophers, scoring within the first 20 seconds of the contest.
- Umstead scored her goal at 19:31 to go in the first half.
- Susquehanna went on a seven-goal run to close out the first half.
- Brenton and Stull scored their goals within 3 minutes of each other in the second half.
- Susquehanna had 13 draw controls to Goucher's 11.
