Lippay Highlights Scoresheet on Senior Day

TOWSON, Md. – The Goucher women's lacrosse team (1-16, Landmark 0-6) fell to the Moravian Greyhounds, 17-4, in a Landmark Conference showdown on Saturday.
During her senior day, Claire Lippay (Jenkintown, PA) hit twine with the first goal of the afternoon. She barreled into the center of the field, spun to see all 36 square feet of the net and buried the shot past the opposing goal minder to give the Gophers the lead.
With that goal, she ends her career with four total goals. She also tallied four ground balls during the contest bringing her total to 39 on the season, tying her sophomore season total. She finished her career with 120 ground balls.
The freshman duo of Alyssa Long (Pennsburg, Pa.) and Shannon Stull (Westminster, Md.) both found the back of the net, adding to the Gophers' score. Long uncorked two goals in the game.
Between the pipes, Bridget Den Boer (Sparta, NJ) got 16 saves, only two short of her career-high of 18. A mark she set earlier this season against Shenandoah.
For the Greyhounds Sophomore Jillian Picciuto had a season-high nine goals and three assists, tallying 12 points.
How It Happened:
- Goucher and Moravian went back and forth during the first eight minutes of play, scoring two goals each.
- Moravian then went on a nine-goal run for the remainder of the first half.
- Goucher ended the streak with the first goal of the second half.
- The Greyhounds scored six more goals before the Gophers scored the final goal of the game with 4:58 remaining.
- Goucher had 16 saves compared to Moravian's three.
