Women's Lacrosse Names Captains for 2018 Season
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College women's lacrosse head coach Cat Thoreson has named senior Bridget Den Boer (Sparta, N.J.) and sophomores Gabrielle Umstead (Chadds Ford, Pa.) and Shannon Stull (Westminster, Md.) as the team captains for the upcoming 2018 season.
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College women's lacrosse head coach Cat Thoreson has named senior Bridget Den Boer (Sparta, N.J.) and sophomores Gabrielle Umstead (Chadds Ford, Pa.) and Shannon Stull (Westminster, Md.) as the team captains for the upcoming 2018 season.
Den Boer enters her final season as a Gopher and will once again be the team's primary goalkeeper. A 2016 All-Landmark Conference selection, DenBoer started 14 matches last season, and led the team in ground balls (53), saves (173), save percentage (.442).
Umstead, an attacker, started 13 games a season ago, scoring five goals and recording an assist. Stull, a midfielder, started all 15 games for Goucher last season and was the team's leading goal scorer, finishing with 21 goals, while adding 16 draw controls, eight ground balls, and three caused turnovers.
The Goucher College women's lacrosse team opens their 2018 season on Saturday, February 17, when they travel to Neumann. The Gophers' first home game will take place on Wednesday, February 28, against McDaniel, and will start at 4:30 p.m.
