Women's Lacrosse Stymied at Hood in Road Defeat

With the defeat, Goucher dropped to 0-4 on the year, while Hood improved to 3-2 with the victory.
On the day, four different Gophers scored goals for Goucher. Sophomore Gabrielle Umstead (Chadds Ford, Pa.) tallied her third goal of the year in the contest, while also adding an assist. Meanwhile, first-year Soleil Gagne (Portsmouth, N.H.) scored her sixth goal of the young season in the defeat.
Elsewhere, sophomore Alyssa Long (Pennsburg, Pa.) scored her fifth goal of the year, and fellow sophomore Shannon Stull (Westminster, Md.) added her 11th score in four games on the day.
In net, senior Bridget Den Boer (Sparta, N.J.) was once again strong, making 17 saves on the afternoon. Den Boer has already made 70 saves in just four games for the Gophers, posting at least 15 saves in each of the four contests the Gophers have played in.
The Goucher College women's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Medaille at Beldon Field. Things get underway at 7 p.m.
