Agostino, Stull Score Two Goals, Apiece, in Home Loss to Frostburg State
TOWSON, Md. - First-year Camryn Agostino (South Setauket, N.Y.) scored a pair of goals for the second time in a game on the season, while sophomore Shannon Stull (Westminster, Md.) also scored twice to lead the Goucher College women’s lacrosse team in a home match against Frostburg State on Wednesday at Beldon Field.
TOWSON, Md. - First-year Camryn Agostino (South Setauket, N.Y.) scored a pair of goals for the second time in a game on the season, while sophomore Shannon Stull (Westminster, Md.) also scored twice to lead the Goucher College women's lacrosse team in a home match against Frostburg State on Wednesday at Beldon Field.
But, the visiting Bobcats coasted past the Gophers on the day, taking a 19-6 win. With the loss, Goucher dropped to 0-6 overall for the year, while Frostburg St. improved to 2-3-1 with the victory.
For the day, Agostino had the best performance of her short career at Goucher, scoring twice, while recording three draw controls and two ground balls.
Stull, meanwhile, scored multiple goals in a game for the fourth time on the season, as she continues to lead the team in scoring with 15 goals. Stull also had a pair of draw controls and a ground ball on the day, as well.
Elsewhere, sophomore Alyssa Long (Pennsburg, Pa.) scored her eighth goal of the year in the contest, while posting four draw controls. Rounding out the goal scorers on the day for Goucher was junior Maddie Hernandez (Pickerington, Ohio) who scored the first goal of her career off a free position attempt late in the contest.
In net, senior Bridget Den Boer (Sparta, N.J.) once again went into double-figures in the saves category, finishing with 18. Den Boer, who also had six ground balls, has already made 111 saves on the year for the Gophers.
For Frostburg State, Molly Biggers scored five goals to lead the way.
The Goucher College women's lacrosse team returns to action on Monday, as the Gophers travel to Southern California for Spring Break, taking on Whittier at 2 p.m. EST.
