Stull Registers 100th Career Goal In Goucher Women's Lacrosse Landmark Conference Opener Against Moravian

 BALTIMORE, Md.  – Junior Shannon Stull (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) scored four times on the afternoon including posting her 100th career goal in the Landmark Conference women's lacrosse opener on Saturday.

Stull posted three goals and an assist in a win against Wesley on Wednesday to come into the match on Sunday needing one tally to reach the 100-goal mark. The junior registered her 100th-career point one week ago in the first 40 seconds against Gwynedd Mercy and had a chance to repeat the feat for her 100th goal, but a turnover in the first 23 seconds of the game put her milestone on hold. Her moment came with 20:51 left in the first half when she went into the high netting for her 100th career goal.

In her three years at Goucher, Stull has scored one goal in a match 10 times, two goals seven times, three markers six times, four tallies five times, five goals four times, six goals twice and had a career-high nine goals against Randolph College earlier this year to account for her now 103 career goals. In addition, she has only been held without a goal four times in her career. The junior now has 103 goals and 11 assists for 114 in her career. Stull leads the team and the Landmark Conference in goals (39) and points (49) in 2019.

Julia Gazzola (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) added two goals and an assist along with two ground balls, two caused turnovers and three draw controls. The freshman has posted 17 goals and six assists in her last four matches and now has registered a multi-goal performance six times in her freshman campaign. Offensively, she leads the team in assists (11) while ranking second to Stull in goals (27) and points (38). The freshman also leads the team in ground balls (22), draw controls (63) and caused turnovers (17).

The Gophers also had goals from Camryn Agostino (South Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville), Alyssa Long (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen), Katarina Molchen (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) and Mackenzie Nase (Weare, N.H./John Stark Regional) also found the twine while Elizabeth Green (Easton, Md./Lehigh Valley Charter for the Arts) on the afternoon. It was Molchen's first collegiate tally.

Abbie McHerron (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills) made five saves in 23:40 minutes of action while Gillian Sickler (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) turned away four shots in 36:20 minutes of action.

Moravian jumped out to a 15-8 lead at halftime and then used an 8-2 second half to secure a 23-10 victory.

Goucher returns to action on Sunday when Bethany College comes to town. Match time is 1 p.m.
