TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Catholic University scored just 20 seconds into the contest as it eased past Goucher College for a 24-0 non-conference women's lacrosse victory Wednesday afternoon at Beldon Field.
Catholic (6-7, 4-0 Landmark) scored three times in the first 1:06 of the game and led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Cardinals stretched their lead over Goucher (3-11, 0-4) to 17-0 at halftime.
Goucher goalie Belle Christ (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) came in in relief in the first quarter and stopped 13 of the 23 shots she faced in just over 40 minutes of action. Catholic held a 43-2 shot advantage on the day as 15 different players scored for the Cardinals.
Goucher is back in action at home Saturday, hosting Scranton in a 1 pm Landmark Conference contest at Beldon Field.
