TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Moravian University dealt Goucher College an 18-1 Landmark Conference women's lacrosse defeat in the regular season finale for both schools Saturday afternoon at Beldon Field.
Prior to the game, the Gophers honored their lone senior, goalie Belle Christ (Randolph, N.J./Randolph).
Moravian (12-5, 6-1 Landmark) scored just over two and a half minutes into the game and opened up a 9-0 lead after one quarter before expanding the lead to 12-0 at halftime.
Goucher (3-14, 0-7) got on the board with 4:30 remaining on a Bella McKinney (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) goal. Izzy Montenegro (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) notched an assist.
10 different players scored for the Greyhounds as they outshot Goucher 32-6 on the afternoon. Christ made five saves in her 30:17 of action in goal, while Sydney Lewis (Baltimore, Md./Carver) recorded a pair of shots.
Molly Smith (Damascus, Md./Damascus) registered five draw controls for the Gophers, while Katherine Luetgens (El Segundo, Calif./El Segundo) had three.
Christ finishes her career with 180 saves in 34 career games with 15 starts.
