Nine Score in Gophers' Win Over Gators

TOWSON, Md. - Led by Emily Burk's six goals, nine different players scored as the Goucher College women's lacrosse team cruised past Notre Dame Maryland for a 19-5 non-conference victory Wednesday afternoon at Beldon Field.
- Notre Dame (1-3) led 2-1 just under five minutes into the contest.
- Goucher (2-4) scored three straight goals to take a 4-2 lead with Molly Smith, DJ Howell and Burk all scoring.
- The Gators cut the lead to 4-3 at the 2:48 mark.
- The Gophers scored twice in the final 19 seconds of the quarter with Katherine Luetgens scoring with 19 seconds to go off a pass from Tatiana Emeruwa.
- Burk scored 10 seconds later to make it 6-3.
- Five different players scored for the Gophers in the second as they opened an 11-3 halftime lead.
- Bailey Schneeman scored three minutes in, followed by an Amaya Locke tally at the 7:38 mark.
- Makayla Batts converted a free position 32 seconds later, before Burk's third goal of the game with 4:45 left.
- Wrenn Harney closed out the first half scoring 2:33 before intermission.
- Burk scored off a feed from Amelia Lazzini 34 seconds into the second half.
- Smith scored her second goal of the game at 12:47, followed by a Luetgens goal with 10:30 on the clock.
- Schneeman assisted on a Burk goal with just under six minutes left, before Howell converted a free position with 4:57 remaining.
- Smith assisted on the final two goals of the quarter, assisting Izzy Montenegro at 3:49 and Amaya Locke with 48 seconds left.
- The hosts led 18-3 with 15 minutes to go.
- Schneeman closed out Goucher's scoring with 9:34 left.
- Emma Alascia scored twice for NDMU in the final 8:01 of the contest.
- Goucher outshot Notre Dame 30-18 and won 15 of the game's 26 draws.
- Burk totaled six goals and an assist, while Howell, Luetgens, Locke, Schneeman and Smith all had two goals apiece.
- Smith added three assists, nine draw controls, three caused turnovers and four ground balls.
- Schneeman notched an assist and had three ground balls.
- Jordyn Altieri and Camden West each had two caused turnovers as the Gophers racked up 15 on the day.
- Sydney Lewis played the first 39:20 in goal and made four saves, before giving way to Kennedy Harper, who notched two saves in the final 20:40.
