SCRANTON, Pa. - The University of Scranton staked itself to an 8-0 lead after one quarter as it went on to post a 19-3 Landmark Conference women's lacrosse victory over Goucher College at Weiss Field Thursday evening.
- Scranton (7-2, 2-0 Landmark) got on the board 2:43 into the contest.
- The Royals got goals from five different scorers as they opened up an 8-0 lead over Goucher (2-7, 0-2) after one quarter.
- The Gophers got on the board 1:30 into the second stanza as Tatiana Emeruwa scored an unassiste goal.
- Scranton scored two goals 32 seconds apart as it extended the lead to 10-1 with 12:25 left in the half.
- The hosts took that 10-1 lead into intermission.
- Scranton scored the first four goals of the second half as it increased its lead to 14-2
- Bailey Schneeman scored with Camden West assisting at the 5:15 mark.
- The Royals led 16-2 with 15 minutes remaining.
- West scored on an assist by Molly Smith 2:22 into the final frame.
- The Royals added three goals, the last with 3:32 left, to account for the final.
- Scranton held a 41-9 shot advantage on the day and won 17 of the game's 24 draws.
- Sydney Lewis made eight saves in goal for the Gophers.
- Emily Burk recorded five draw controls, while Lewis led the team in ground balls with five.
