Katie Russo Selected for NCAA Women Coaches Academy
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College women's lacrosse coach Katie Russo has been selected to participate in the 2024 NCAA Women Coaches Academy taking place in Denver, Colo. June 16-19. A total of 95 coaches across all levels of collegiate athletics have been selected to participate in the program, which is being hosted by WeCOACH (formerly Alliance of Women's Coaches).
"Attending the NCAA Women Coaches Academy as a member of class #53 feels surreal. I am grateful for the opportunity and thankful to be a recipient of the Dr. Christine Grant & Dr. Charlotte West Honorary Scholarship.," said Russo, who is entering her third season leading the Gopher women's lacrosse program in the 2024-25 academic year. "The speaker lineup is incredible and the agenda includes everything; I'm eager to delve deeper into the topics covered, make connections, further educate myself, and incorporate much of what I learn into my professional and daily life."

Collaborative efforts such as this allow us to expand our reach and broaden our impact."
Over 2,200 graduates have participated in the NCAA WCA, a program designed for women coaches to elevate their holistic coaching effectiveness by learning advanced leadership skills and strategies that directly affect their personal and team success. Participants focus on non-sport-specific concepts in an environment that fosters inclusion across the sports community.
