Westminster, Md.- The Gophers (1-0 overall) take on the Green Terror (0-1) of McDaniel College in their season opener. The Gophers had a strong comeback in the second and third quarter but the Green Terror ended up maintaining their lead winning 11-7.
- McDaniel begins the scoring with five consecutive goals.
- Emily Burk scores off an assist from Wrenn Harney with (2:49) remaining.
- Green Terror ends the quarter with another goal leading 7-1.
- Gophers win the draw taking early possesion.
- Burk scores her second goal of the contest at (6:45) in the quarter.
- McDaniel score two more goals in the remaining four minutes.
- Katie Bloom scored for the Gophers assisted by Burk in the last second of the quarter.
- Goucher starts the scoring with a goal by Camden West that was assisted by Molly Smith.
- Gophers chip away at the Green Terror lead with an unassisted goal by Tatiana Emeruwa with (12:04) remaining.
- Back-to-back goals by Burk round out the quarter.
- Gophers fight through the half forcing multiple turnovers.
