Buskey Contributes Pair of Goals, Assist to 3-0 Victory
TOWSON, Md. — Goucher unleashed a season-high total of 34 shots this afternoon on the way to a 3-0 triumph over Washington Adventist that featured a two-goal, one-assist performance by Sherlanda Buskey (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown).
The freshman forward provided the Gophers (7-9) with a 1-0 lead at 38:16 by heading in a corner kick by Sam Schlosburg (North Potomac, Md./Thomas S. Wootton).
Buskey and Sarah Eaby (New Holland, Pa./Lancaster Country Day School) hooked up on both goals Goucher tacked on in the second half. The keeper was able to make a save on a contested shot Buskey was able to get off following a turnover by the Lady Shock (11-4), but the rebound went right to Eaby, who drilled it into an open net at 47:22.
Less than eight minutes later, Eaby picked up an assist on Buskey's team-leading 10th goal of the season.
Washington Adventist was limited to only three shots the entire contest. Regan Foy (Crofton, Md./The Key School), who went the distance in goal for Goucher, needed to make only one save to earn her fourth shutout of the season, which she did in the fifth minute by turning away an attempt by Ashley Weisenberg.
