Women's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw with Bryn Mawr

Shots on net were scarce throughout the course of the game, with the teams combining for just four shots on goal in the first half.
The Gophers controlled possession, but couldn't break through the Owl defensive front, which kept nine players behind the ball through the course of the game.
However, Goucher placed three shots in goal in the first half, all of which were stopped by the Bryn Mawr goal keeper, and the teams went into the halftime break scoreless.
The Gopher defense, allowed just two shots by the Owls in the first stanza, while Lexi Rudolph posted one save in the half.
Bryn Mawr managed just one shot on goal in the second half, but it was effective, finding the back of the net on a shot from Katherine Nickols in the 64th minute to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
With just under five minutes to play in regulation, the Gophers were able to find their answer. A throw in by Goucher led to a pass from Sara Kast, which found its way through the Owls' defensive shell and on to the foot of Jimenez. The junior, which had gotten behind the defensive wall, slipped the ball past the keeper for her first-career goal.
With neither team able to get the decisive goal, the match went into overtime. The slowed-down defensive pace led to just six total shots through the overtime frames, none of which were on net, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Throughout the game, the Gophers dominated possession, while outshooting Bryn Mawr 12-5. Jimenez led the way with a goal and two points, while Kast picked up her first assist of the year. Camryn Mackey finished the game with a pair of shots on goal, while Samantha Turner and Onja Opsahl added two shots, each.
The Goucher women's soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 7, when they play host to Notre Dame (Md.). The matchup at Beldon Field is scheduled to be played under the lights at 7:00 p.m.
