CHESTER, Pa. - The Goucher College women's soccer program (3-2-2, Landmark 0-0-0) sustained another loss to the Pride of Widener University 2-0 on Wednesday evening.
Widener scored one goal in the first half and another in the second. The first came from junior Shea Scannell after she beat the last defender. Junior Mikaela Malofiy scored the second after she intercepted the ball and shot it from 35 yards out.
The Pride played a strong defensive game, holding the Gophers to only five shots in the first half and zero in the second.
Freshman goalkeeper Christina Charikofsky (Eldersburg, Md.) made two saves during the contest.
Goucher faces their first Landmark Conference opponent, Juniata College, this Saturday at 1 p.m. on Beldon Field.
