TOWSON, Md. - After 90 minutes of regular gameplay and 20 minutes of overtime, Goucher College and Drew University ended their first conference game of the season in a 1-1 tie.
With the result, Goucher moved to 2-3-2 on the year and 0-0-1 in the Landmark Conference, while Drew went to 5-1-2 and 0-0-1 in the Landmark.
Sophomore goalkeeper Christina Charikofsky (Eldersburg, Md.) started her first game of the season and saved 8 out of 9 shots on goal. The lone Gopher goal was scored by junior Gracie LeFevre (Glenwood, Md.) off of a corner kick from sophomore Alyssa Hodnik (Pittsburgh, Pa.) in the 84th minute. Senior Christina Yarrish (Hummelstown, Pa.) led the team with 5 shots, 4 on goal.
The Rangers goal was scored by junior Sarah Rancine. Sophomore goalkeeper Madison Dudziec racked up 7 saves during the game.
The Gophers are going on the road to take on Wesley on Tuesday, September 25 at 7 PM.
