Charikofsky Named Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for First Time in Career

This past week, Charikofsky continued her sterling play in goal for the Gophers on the year, as she did not allow a goal as Goucher bested Immaculata on Tuesday (1-0) before battling Juniata to a 0-0 double overtime draw on Saturday.
First, against Immaculata, Charikofsky stopped five shots to notch her first shutout victory of the season. She followed that up with a big game at Juniata, where in 110 minutes of action, she made eight saves to keep the host Eagles off the board and scoreless all match.
For the season, Charikofsky boasts a 2-1-2 record in matches she has started in, boasting a goals against average of 0.69. Allowing just five goals in over 648 minutes of action in net, she has also made 53 saves for a save percentage of .914 for the year, as well.
Charikofsky and the rest of the Goucher College women's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, as they host Catholic in a Landmark Conference contest at Beldon Field. Action gets underway at 7 p.m.
