BALTIMORE, Md. – Alyssa Hodnik (Pittsburgh, Pa./Kiski Area) scored her first collegiate goal for Goucher College in a 3-1 loss against Shenandoah University in a non-conference women's soccer match on Wednesday night. The game was delayed for an hour due to lightening in the area around the scheduled start time of the match.
Hodnik booted a high shot from outside the box into the upper netting above the netminder hands with 3:01 left in the match. It was the junior's first collegiate goal and she now has a goal and two assists for four points on the year. For her career, Hodnik has a tally and four assists for six points.
The day started with Hodnik doing a GameDay Takeover for Instagram with "A Day In The Life" look at what a Gopher women's soccer player game day looks like with her Instagram story for @gouchergophers.
Christina Charikofsky (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) made four saves in the loss.
Goucher returns to action on the road at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.
